Welcome back to school; I hope you've all had a very restful and relaxing Spring Break!
For those of you NOT affiliated with Eastern Missouri NSDA:
- If you plan to affiliate in order to send students to NSDA Districts, please let me know right away -- this will be the last email I send to all coaches on my list until the end of March. January, February, and early March I'll only be sending stuff to schools affiliated with NSDA.
- If you don't plan on affiliating with Eastern Missouri NSDA, then no further action is required.
For those of you affiliated with Eastern Missouri NSDA:
Over the next few weeks, you'll be hearing a LOT from me as we gear up for the 2017 NSDA District Tournament Series. To be blunt, there will be a lot to keep track of. I will, as always, attempt to keep things as simple and clear as I can and provide as much notice of deadlines as possible. BUT, I do ask that all coaches invest in communication -- doing so goes a long way to keeping our all-volunteer tournament staff from experiencing unnecessary stress!
This is a simple reminder that the annual EASTERN MISSOURI NSDA RULES REVIEW meeting will be Saturday, January 7th at 10:00 a.m. at Parkway CENTRAL High School. This is during the Parkway Central Novice Debate Round Robin.
Because this is now the third time we've gone through the rules as a community, I'll be simplifying the meeting to simply highlight major rules that have come up in the past year as well as highlighting a number of rule changes (mostly affecting oral interpretation events). I anticipate that my information will take no more than an hour to go through; but obviously there will be questions that come up.
If you're not able to make the meeting, an online version will be available roughly 1 week later. This is also when I anticipate that Joy of Tournaments will open.
Thank you and as always let me know what questions you have!
