No surprises here, consider this your official call for legislation for the 2017 NSDA CONGRESSIONAL DEBATE DISTRICT TOURNAMENT!
Every affiliated school is permitted to submit up to TWO pieces of legislation (preferably 1 bill and 1 resolution).
Notes about submission:
- Legislation MUST be formatted using the official templates. I suggest assigning a student to type the legislation directly into the template. I've attached the template for a BILL and the template for the RESOLUTION below. If legislation is not formatted correctly, it will be sent back to the coach - if not resubmitted correctly by January 25th, it will be fully rejected from the tournament.
- Legislation must be submitted via TWO DIFFERENT Microsoft Word attachments. PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE THEM BOTH IN ONE DOCUMENT. It makes it much harder for separate them for inclusion in the full packet. PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT AS A PDF. 90% of formatting errors are simple fixes (put in a comma, capitalize a letter, etc.) -- if it's in MSWord that easy for the District Committee to fix. If it's in PDF, we have to kick it back even for something super simple.
- Please submit the email attachments to Jocelyn Nebel - firstname.lastname@example.org - BY END OF DAY TUESDAY, JANUARY 24th! If everything is formatted correctly (or corrected in time), we can have the full packet out by end of day Thursday, January 26th!
Congress will be held Saturday, February 25th, 2017 at Ladue Horton Watkins HS. We will have a detailed schedule out soon.
As always, we are looking for FULLY UNAFFILIATED JUDGES throughout the day. This is always a huge headache - so if you have a family friend or colleague or anyone that you know would love to judge Congress for a day, please let Jocelyn know!
(More Districts Information coming soon -- I'll have most of the rest of the preliminary information out by the end of the weekend)
